Makhtab Scholars Project
“Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.”

About Our Makhtab Scholars Project
At JIQ, we firmly believe that personal and spiritual development is essential for meaningful social progress. In many of the villages where we work, Makhtabs (Religious Education Centers) play a central role in fostering this growth.
What We Do
Each Makhtab is led by a qualified scholar and teacher, whose role is integral to the community. These scholars guide worship, provide education, and act as a source of knowledge and support for everyone in the village.
How We Help
Makhtabs serve as more than just places of worship—they are the heartbeat of the community. These centers:
Provide a space for personal and spiritual development through education and worship.
Serve as community hubs, uniting men, women, and children in solace, support, and learning.
Double as learning institutions, where children are taught to read and write, fostering literacy and education.
Facilitate gatherings for prayers, education, and community meetings, promoting unity and collective development.
How It Works
The annual cost of sponsoring a scholar/teacher is just £400. By sponsoring a teacher, you:
Enable the Makhtab to remain an active and thriving center for personal, spiritual, and community growth.
Support education, literacy, and the preservation of values within the community.
Contribute to creating a stronger, more united society.
For just £400 Per Year Sponsor a scholar today and make a meaningful impact on countless lives.
Your support can help us continue this vital work.
